Lights Up Productions’ community theater is proud to announce auditions for our holiday production of A Charlie Brown Christmas! Whether you’re a longtime community theater actor or taking your very first step onto the stage, this show offers joyful roles, nostalgic moments, and a chance to bring a beloved holiday story to life for audiences of all ages.
Ages 18 and up are encouraged to audition. Ensemble and non-speaking roles are available. Come join the fun — and let your inner Peanut shine.

PRODUCTION
Step into the world of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the whole Peanuts gang as they rediscover the true meaning of Christmas in a season overflowing with sparkle, silliness, and heartfelt charm. This timeless classic blends gentle humor, iconic music, and a message of togetherness that has inspired generations.
REHEARSALS
Held 3 nights per week at the Skowhegan Opera House tentatively beginning the end of October to December 17 from 6 pm – 8 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday — times and days may vary depending on cast availability.

CAST LIST
Main Characters
- Charlie Brown – The central character, feeling depressed and questioning the true meaning of Christmas, ultimately learns about love and togetherness through the holiday play and the small Christmas tree.
- Snoopy – Charlie Brown’s imaginative and playful dog, who decorates his doghouse and participates in the neighborhood Christmas lights contest, adding humor and charm.
- Lucy van Pelt – Outspoken and bossy, she runs a psychiatric booth and initially mocks Charlie Brown’s tree choice, but is part of the Christmas play.
- Linus van Pelt – Lucy’s younger brother, wise and philosophical, he explains the true meaning of Christmas with his recitation of the Nativity story, holding his security blanket.
- Sally Brown – Charlie Brown’s younger sister, who is preoccupied with gifts and asks Charlie Brown to write a letter to Santa.
Supporting Characters
- Violet, Patty, and Frieda – Friends of Charlie Brown who appear in the Christmas play and react to the small tree.
- Pig-Pen – Known for his perpetually dusty appearance, he participates in the play and skating scenes.
- Schroeder – The piano-playing character, often seen performing the iconic jazz soundtrack.
- Shermy – A minor character who appears in the skating and play scenes.
Ensemble & Choir Members – Non-speaking characters who perform memorable dances and sing during the play.
